Now through October 11 is your opportunity to explore options and find the health plan that’s right for you and your family.

As Open Enrollment begins, familiarize yourself with the health plan changes for 2025. Whether you’re considering a change or confirming that your current plan still meets your needs, we have the resources to assist you.

Why Review My Current Health Plan?

  • Cost Changes: Your monthly health premium might increase in 2025. You may be able to find other CalPERS health plans with lower premiums or out-of-pocket costs and keep your doctor.
  • Wellness Programs: Explore your health plan and other CalPERS health plans to learn more about their health and wellness services. Each health plan offers different programs designed to help you achieve a balanced and healthy life.

How Can I Explore My Options?

Your Health Plan Statement

  • Access your customized Open Enrollment information by logging in to your myCalPERS account.
  • Find your 2025 monthly premium if you don’t switch plans and check for any changes to your current plan.

Search Health Plans

  • Use the Search Health Plans tool in your myCalPERS account for a side-by-side comparison of health benefits, monthly premiums, and member satisfaction ratings. You can also search for your doctors, specialists, and medical groups.

  • Available on the CalPERS website, these publications detail what the plan covers and what you pay.

State of California Employees and Retirees

The California Department of Human Resources (CalHR) administers benefit programs including dental, vision, FlexElect Reimbursement Accounts, cash options, legal, life and long-term disability (LTD) insurance for State of California active employees and retirees. For information about enrolling or making changes to benefits administered by CalHR during Open Enrollment, visit the CalHR Open Enrollment webpage.

CSU Employees and Retirees

The California State University (CSU) Chancellor’s Office administers the dental and vision programs for CSU active employees and retirees. For information about these benefits, contact your campus benefits office. CSU retirees should visit the CSU retirees website for plan information.

How Can I Get Started?

You can make health plan changes through your myCalPERS account. Information on how to register for and use myCalPERS is available online.

Active employees should check with their employer before making changes online, as they may want you to follow a different process.
