This month the CalPERS Board will meet in-person at CalPERS Headquarters on Tuesday, June 20, through Thursday, June 22.
Board meetings are open to the public and comments are welcome. You can submit comments by calling (800) 259-4105. You can also watch our live broadcast via webcast on the CalPERS website.

Full agendas are posted on our website, but here is a brief overview of the items the board will hear this month:
Monday’s Meeting
During the Investment Committee, Nicole Musicco will provide an update on the Investment Officer 2022-23 Strategic Initiatives (PDF). She will highlight accomplishments in four areas: Portfolio, Process, People, and Performance.
The CIO will also moderate a discussion regarding Current Trends in Investing and Sustainability (PDF) in the marketplace with its implication for CalPERS returns with international finance leader Mark Carney, Vice Chair of Brookfield Asset Management and Head of Transition Investing.
The Investment Office will also provide the committee updates for Quarterly Chief Investment Officer Report (PDF), Private Equity Annual Program (PDF), and Real Assets Annual Program (PDF).
The committee will also receive an introduction to Risk Budgeting Strategy (PDF), a staff-level activity to manage active risk across the Public Employees’ Retirement Fund (PERF) from a total portfolio perspective, with the goal of generating value add commensurate to the risks being taken.
Tuesday’s Meeting
The Pension & Health Benefits Committee will hear an update on the rate development process. The committee will review the preliminary 2024 Health Maintenance Organization and Preferred Provider Organization Plan premiums (PDF).
The preliminary premiums are presented to stakeholders, members, and employers prior to the board’s approval of final premiums in July. Adopted premiums take effect January 1, 2024.
