Retirees: Opt In to Electronic Tax Statements

Hey, retirees — if you opt in to get electronic 1099-R or W-2 tax statements by December 31, you’ll be able to see them in your myCalPERS account in early January.

5 Steps to an Easier Tax Time

Streamline how you get your statement in just five steps:

  1. Log in to myCalPERS (if you need assistance, visit Using myCalPERS).
  2. Choose a verification method and enter your code when prompted.
  3. From the My Account dropdown menu, choose Mailing Preferences.
  4. Scroll down to Tax Statements and select the Online option.
  5. Click Save.

That’s it! We’ll notify you via email when your statements are ready in early January.

If you don’t choose to go electronic, you’ll still receive your tax statements in the mail. Please ensure your CalPERS account is updated to reflect the most current and valid address for accurate delivery.
