The start of a new year is the perfect time to take charge of your future, and we’re here to help you tackle six essential CalPERS resolutions that will safeguard your assets and loved ones.
1. Make Sure Your Mailing and Email Addresses Are Current
If your current contact information isn’t on file with us, we can’t reach out to you with timely updates.
All CalPERS members can check and update phone numbers and email addresses through myCalPERS — log in and choose Menu, then My Account, then Contact Information.
If you’re an active member, you can check and update your mailing address by contacting your human resources department.
If you’re retired, you can change your address online through myCalPERS, or download, complete, and return our Address Change Authorization (PDF) form.
2. Explore Supplemental Savings Plans
Active members can enhance their retirement with supplemental savings programs for state, school, and public agency employees. Learn more about your options in our article, Which Retirement Savings Plan Is Right for You?
3. Name or Update Your Beneficiary
Did you know death benefits are paid according to the valid beneficiary designation we have on file? Ensure your benefits go to right person. Learn more in our article, Who Is Your Beneficiary, And Are They In the Loop?
4. Designate a Special Power of Attorney
