Schools/Community Colleges/County Offices of Education
- 403bCompare — Employees of school districts, community colleges, and county offices of education can choose to purchase a variety of 403(b) supplemental savings products. The California State Teachers’ Retirement System (CalSTRS) manages the 403bCompare website. You can also call the 403bCompare Administrator at (844) 488-0270.
- CalPERS 457 Plan — Participating public agencies and school employees are eligible to participate in the CalPERS 457 Plan. To enroll, your employer must participate in the CalPERS 457 Plan. Visit the CalPERS 457 Plan Participating Agencies webpage to access a list of schools, colleges, and offices of education that offer our plan. If your employer doesn’t currently participate, they can easily sign up to offer this key employee benefit at no cost to them.
Public Agencies

State of California/California State University
- CalPERS Supplemental Contributions Plan — The CalPERS Supplemental Contributions Plan (SCP) is an after-tax supplemental contribution plan available to state employees and members of the Judges’ Retirement Systems I and II. To enroll, call the SCP Information Line at (800) 260-0659 or visit the CalPERS Supplemental Contributions Plan website for more information.
- Savings Plus — Administered by the California Department of Human Resources, this program provides 401(k) and 457 deferred compensation plans for state employees. Participants can choose to contribute by payroll deduction on a pretax or after-tax Roth basis. Visit Savings Plus to learn more.
