The new online payment gateway eliminates the extra cost of stamps, envelopes, making trips to the post office, or spending time writing checks. And if you’re going on vacation, payments can be scheduled up to 30 days in advance, so you don’t need to worry.
Some of the payments that you can make to CalPERS include retro health payments, complementary annuitant premiums, and retirement overpayments.
Paying electronically is safe and secure, and ensures your payments are processed quickly. Just visit pay.calpers.ca.gov in April, enter your CalPERS identification number (CID) and invoice identification number or last name, and the amount you want to pay. You can pay for free by electronic funds transfer (EFT) or e-check by entering your bank routing and account numbers. Credit and debit cards can also be used for a small fee.
Look for further details on your payment notices starting in April.
