Sacramento: Attend our CalPERS Benefits Education Event This Week

CalPERS Benefits Education Events (CBEEs) give you the opportunity to learn about your health plan and retirement benefits through CalPERS.

If you’re still waiting to fulfill this item on your bucket list, there is no better time than March 1 or 2 at the Sacramento Convention Center for the biggest CalPERS Benefits Education Event of the year!

Who should attend a CBEE?

If you are a CalPERS member, no matter what stage you are in your career, this CBEE is for you. The earlier you develop an understanding of your benefits, the more prepared you’ll be to make good decisions and develop a plan for your financial future. Even if you are closer to retirement, a CBEE is a valuable refresher and you can always learn something new.

The Sacramento CBEE (PDF) at the Sacramento Convention Center will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Friday, March 1, and Saturday, March 2. The same program is held each day, so you can select the day you wish to attend.

What can I learn at a CBEE?

This free event features classes on CalPERS retirement and health benefits, as well as supplemental savings plans (Savings Plus), deferred compensation, long-term care coverage, and more. In addition, sessions on my|CalPERS & Your Retirement Options (PDF) and Social Security (PDF) will be offered. Representatives from CalPERS Regional Offices also will be on hand to answer your questions.

As an extra bonus, you’ll also have the chance to hear CalPERS CEO Marcie Frost speak about the work the system is doing to maintain the strength and long-term financial health of the fund.

Where’s my CBEE?

Information on upcoming CBEEs can be found at CalPERS Benefits Education Events. More CBEEs are being added to the schedule, so check back often for updates. There you will also find the “What’s a CBEE?” video, which shows you what to expect at one of our events. We encourage you to pre-register for your preferred event date to expedite registration check-in, but walk-ins are also welcome.
