Where to start
Log in to your myCalPERS account to access customized Open Enrollment information and resources:
- View your Health Plan Statement, which lists the monthly 2024 premium should you remain with the same health plan, as well as dependents on your plan, and other important information. Use A Guide to Understanding Your Health Plan Statement to help you navigate your statement.
- Use the Search Health Plans tool to explore and shop health plans based on your eligibility ZIP code, search for your doctors and specialists, review side-by-side benefit costs, and view member health plan satisfaction ratings.
New this year, members enrolled in Basic plans can include a medical group in their search, and Medicare members can search for their Medicare doctor.
Before making any plan changes, check with the health plan or doctor’s office to verify doctor availability in the health plan.

Make Open Enrollment Changes Online Through myCalPERS
Active members
With your employers’ approval, you can make health changes online using your myCalPERS account instead of submitting a hard copy form to your employer. Through myCalPERS, you can:
- Enroll yourself and your eligible dependents into health benefits
- Add or remove dependents
- Change health plans
- Cancel coverage
Retirees
you can make the same changes you always have:
- Add or remove dependents
- Change health plans
If you want to remain with your current health plan, you don’t need to take any action.
Dental and Vision Information for State and CSU Employees and Retirees
The Open Enrollment period for State of California and California State University (CSU) dental and vision plans starts September 18 and ends October 13, 2023.
State of California Employees and Retirees
CalHR administers the dental and vision programs for State of California active employees and retirees. For information about dental and vision benefits, visit the CalHR Benefits Division website.

CSU Employees and Retirees
The CSU Chancellor’s Office administers the dental and vision programs for CSU active employees and retirees. For information about these benefits, contact your campus benefits office. CSU retirees should visit the CSU retiree’s website at calstate.edu/csu-retirees for plan information.
