Now the CalPERS Regional Offices offer virtual video appointments. The only technology you need to connect with us is a smartphone, tablet, or laptop with a camera and internet access.

Here’s How to Schedule Your Video Appointment
- Log in to myCalPERS, select the Education tab, then Appointments from the drop-down menu. New to myCalPERS? Register now.
- Choose the reason for the appointment that best suits your needs (Account Services, Disability Retirement, Health Benefits, Service Credit, Service Retirement), then select Schedule an Appointment.
- On the Select a Date & Time screen under Appointment Details, enter:
- The date you’d like to search for appointments
- The Regional Office location (since appointments are virtual, you can select any location)
- Virtual for the delivery method
- Choose the Select Time button for the available appointment that best fits your schedule.
- Finally, ensure your information is correct, then select either Phone or Video as your preferred delivery method.
- For phone appointments, we’ll call you at the phone number provided within 15 minutes of your appointment time.
- For video appointments, we use the Webex platform. We’ll send the Webex link and details for your video appointment prior to your scheduled time. All you need to do is select the link to join your appointment. Visit the Webex Help Center for additional information.

Account Services
Schedule this appointment if you have questions about refunds, community property, death benefits, and more.
Disability Retirement
Schedule this appointment if you’re planning for disability or industrial disability retirement and have any questions. If you’re ready, we’ll also review your retirement application.

- Attend a retirement class to learn more about service credit, your benefits, and retirement.
Health Benefits
Learn how your health benefits continue into retirement. See your employer for any other benefit questions.
Service Credit
Schedule this appointment if you’re purchasing service credit and have any questions. If you’re purchasing service credit or converting from Second Tier to First Tier, we’ll instruct you on how to make a payment (if applicable).
Do the following to prepare:
- Read information on Service Credit and State Second Tier conversion.
- Download Service Credit Purchase Options (PUB 12) (PDF).
- Log in to myCalPERS to request to purchase service credit and get an estimate.
- If you’re purchasing service credit:
- Complete the Official Cost Package.
- View Payment Options for more information.
- If you’re paying for all or a part of your purchase with a pre-tax rollover, you must:
- Have your financial institution(s) fill out the rollover Certification Form(s).
- Obtain the check(s) from your financial institution(s).
Service Retirement
Schedule this appointment if you’re planning for service retirement and have any questions. If you’re ready, we’ll also review your retirement application.
Do the following to prepare:
