Digitize Your COVID-19 Vaccination Record with California’s New Tool

The state of California recently released a new website through which California residents may access a digital copy of their COVID-19 vaccination card, eliminating the need to carry the physical copy with them in order to access event venues or other businesses.

To access your card, visit the secure website and input your name, phone number, and date of birth. Then, create a four-digit PIN. You will receive a text on your cell phone including a link to your vaccination card; open the link and input your PIN in order to access your record, which will be in the form of a QR code. This code can be scanned by businesses to verify that you are vaccinated, but they will not be able to save or duplicate your information.

Make sure to take a screenshot of your QR code and save it on your phone. The website is not connected to any apps, so you must save your code in order to access it easily in the future.

If you are not yet vaccinated and wish to be, visit My Turn, California’s official coronavirus vaccination website to see what vaccination options are available to you.
