Here are the top 6 things to know about this board election.

Now is the chance for you to elect your representative to the CalPERS Board of Administration.

The board makes important decisions that affect your health and retirement benefits. Here are the top 6 things to know about how to exercise your right to vote.

  1. Watch the mail for your ballot. Ballots will be mailed today, August 30, and will arrive in a bright blue envelope. Inside the envelope will be the following:
    • Your ballot
    • Candidate Statement Booklet
    • Return envelope
  1. Read the Candidate Statement Booklet and the ballot carefully. They provide information on how to vote and help you decide who to vote for.
  2. If you need more information on who to vote for, check out our Board Elections Webpage. The webpage will provide additional information on the election process, and you can watch the candidates deliver their statements on video.

  3. Attend the Candidate Forum on Tuesday, September 10, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. in the CalPERS Auditorium, 400 P Street, Sacramento, and watch the candidates answer important questions. If you can’t attend the forum you can watch the livestream online or watch it later on our website.
  4. Decide who will best represent your interests and which voting method you want to use. You can vote online, by phone, or by mail. The instructions for each of the three voting methods is contained in your ballot package.
  5. Cast your vote—remember, we must have your vote by September 30 to be counted. Then sit back and wait for the results, which will be released in early October.
