The CalPERS Board will meet Monday, May 13 to Wednesday, May 15 at the CalPERS headquarters (400 Q Street, Sacramento, California).
The board meetings are open to the public. You can also stream the meetings via the CalPERS website. In addition, a recording will be posted to the CalPERS YouTube channel approximately 72 hours after the meeting ends.
Full agendas are posted on our website, but here is a brief overview of the items the board will hear this month:
On Monday, May 13, CalPERS Chief Investment Officer Ben Meng will continue the monthly board education workshops. This month’s topic is investment risk and return. In addition, he will continue the overview of CalPERS’ private equity co-investment activities.
Pension & Health Benefits Committee
On Tuesday, May 14, the Pension & Health Benefits Committee will discuss the preliminary 2020 health care rates. They will look at trends in health care costs.
Finance & Administration Committee
The Finance & Administration Committee will also meet on Tuesday. CalPERS Chief Financial Officer Michael Cohen will present an overview of CalPERS’ salary savings and a second reading of the annual budget proposal.
In addition, CalPERS team members will present the annual stakeholder perception survey report.
Board of Administration
On Wednesday, May 15, the full board will meet to hear committee reports.
In addition, Bill Slaton will be presented a resolution for his exceptional service to the CalPERS board during the past seven years. Mr. Slaton is being replaced by Gov. Newsom appointee Lisa Middleton, a member of the Palm Spring City Council.
The June board meeting takes place Monday, June 17, through Wednesday, June 19, at CalPERS headquarters.
