This month the CalPERS Board will meet in-person at CalPERS Headquarters on Monday, June 13, through Wednesday, June 15.
Board meetings are open to the public and comments are welcome. You can submit comments by calling (800) 259-4105. You can also watch our live broadcast via webcast on the CalPERS website.
We’ll post a recording to the CalPERS YouTube channel approximately 48 hours after the meeting ends.
Full agendas are posted on our website, but here is a brief overview of the items the board will hear this month:
Monday’s Meeting
Chief Investment Officer Nicole Mussico will present to the Investment Committee for the first time. She’ll provide the Executive Report, as well as the Performance and Risk and Investment Controls quarterly updates.
The committee will hear a recommendation (PDF) to update the Supplemental Income Plans’ target date fund glide path asset allocation. The glide path is designed to de-risk the allocation as participants get closer to and enter retirement. The recommendations’ objective is to minimize retirement income shortfall, maximize income replacement in retirement, and minimize cost.
The committee will have their second reading (PDF) of the revisions to the Total Fund and Global Fixed Income Policies. The revisions will help align the fund with the committees adopted return rate, policy portfolio, and strategic asset allocation.
Tuesday’s Meeting
The Pensions & Health Benefits Committee will hear an update on the rate development process. The committee will review the preliminary 2023 Health Maintenance Organization and Preferred Provider Organization Plan premiums.
The preliminary premiums are presented to stakeholders, members, and employers prior to the board’s approval of final premiums in July. Adopted premiums take effect January 1, 2023.
Next Board Meeting
The board will meet offsite on July 11 through July 13. View the Board Meetings Calendar for the full schedule.
