The board meetings are open to the public and comments are welcome. Comments can be submitted via telephone by calling (800) 259-4105.
A recording will be posted to the CalPERS YouTube channel approximately 48 hours after the meeting ends.
Full agendas are posted on our website, but here is a brief overview of the items the board will hear this month:
On Monday, the Finance & Administration Committee will present to the board the 2021-22 Annual Budget Proposal for approval. An approved budget provides CalPERS with the expenditure authority needed to achieve strategic priorities and initiatives, meet core business needs, and further the mission of delivering retirement and health care benefits to members and their beneficiaries. Once approved by the board, the budget provides CalPERS with necessary expenditure authority for the upcoming fiscal year beginning July 1.
The committee will also present the board with State and Schools valuations and contribution rates. The presentation provides the State and Schools employer and member contribution rates for adoption by the board. The rates are for the upcoming fiscal year — July 1, 2021, to June 30, 2022.
The Performance, Compensation & Talent Management Committee will hear a presentation on the long-term incentive program for the chief investment officer (CIO) position. Global Governance Advisors will provide their recommendation to add the incentive component to the total compensation package for the CIO position.
On Tuesday, the board will hear the Board President Report from Henry Jones and the CEO Report from Marcie Frost. In addition, all the individual committee leaders will provide reports from their respective groups.
